This bulletin is being revised to add the 2013 model year. Please discard CorporateBulletin Number 09-08-45-003D (Section 08 - Body and Accessories).

The GM 2-Mode Hybrid utilizes a sophisticated electrical architecture, with generatedelectrical power coming from the Auxiliary Power Module (APM) rather than a traditionalalternator. For the 2008-2010 model years, the electrical capacity of the system wassized to power all the electrical features built into the vehicle but was not designedto accommodate significant aftermarket accessory electrical draw. Limitations of lowdraw devices(less than 25 amps total) on 2008-2010 hybrid models are outlined below for each modelyear and RPO.

For the 2011-2013 model years, the system has been redesigned to accommodate aftermarketaccessory electrical draw as specified below. The 2011-2013 vehicles have the same12 volt DC power delivery capability (for aftermarket accessories and equipment) asan otherwise equivalent 1/2 ton standard alternator equipped truck regardless of theattachment method. The available capacity is similar to a truck with a 160 amp alternator. The sameapplication considerations apply.

Electrical accessories marketed through GM dealers (with GM Part Numbers) under the"GM Accessories" brand have been evaluated and meet all electrical requirements. GMonly approves of the specified aftermarket electrical accessories installation asoutlined below:
