Fuel Line Replacement - Chassis (Pickup)
Disconnect the fuel feed and return lines. Refer toMetal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.Remove the fuel line bracket nut.Remove the fuel line bracket from the stud.Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer toLifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
Remove the fuel bundle clip-(2) from thetransmission brackets-(1).Disconnect the chassis harness from the retainingclips.
Disconnect the fuel feed and return lines from the fuel tanklines. Refer toPlastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
Remove the fuel bundle nuts from the chassis.
Loosen the electronic brake control module (EBCM) bracketbolts (4).Allow the EBCM to remain loose in order to allow fuel pipeclearance.Remove the fuel bundle using the following procedure:Guide the fuel bundle pipes towards the rear of the vehicleto clear the engine.Lower the fuel bundle while moving it forward and out.Installation Procedure
Install the fuel pipe bundle using the followingprocedure:Install the fuel bundle to the chassis by guiding the pipestowards the rear of vehicle.Lift the fuel pipes, while guiding the forward portion of thepipes up towards the engine connections.
Caution:Refer toFastener Caution.Install the fuel bundle nuts to the chassis and tighten to16-Y(12-lb-ft).
Connect the fuel feed and return lines to the fuel tanklines. Refer toPlastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
Connect the fuel bundle clip-(2) to thetransmission brackets-(1).
Tighten the EBCM bracket bolts-(4) to25-Y(18-lb-ft).Lower the vehicle.
Install the fuel line bracket to the stud.Install the fuel line bracket nut and tighten to16-Y(12-lb-ft).Connect the fuel feed and return lines. Refer toMetal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.Prime the fuel system. Refer toFuel System Priming.Start the engine. If the engine stalls, repeat the abovestep.Once the engine starts, inspect for fuel leaks.
